Waiting on Wednesday #104

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by breaking the spine, that spotlights upcoming
releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows
Series: The Orphan Queen #1
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Publication Date: March 10th 2015

Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others

Ever since I heard about this one I've been eagerly anticipating it. The synopsis sounds so amazing! And the early reviews for it have been fantastic too. The Orphan Queen will be my first Jodi Meadows book and I'm dying to get my hands on it!

What are you waiting on this week?

  2. I'm totally excited for this one too! Meadows is a fantastic story teller. I read and really enjoyed Incarnate. But as per usual it's been years and I still haven't finished the trilogy. *sigh*
But good pick this week! I think we'll really enjoy The Orphan Queen!

    1. I've still to buy and read Incarnate. I've been wanting to for years, but haven't gotten around to it yet. But this one I'll be grabbing ASAP! I think we will too!
